Breve nota biografica
Sono nato a Zurigo il 22 settembre del 1944. 
Mio padre era titolare di una serigrafia tessile; 
mia madre era l'artista Cornelia Forster.

Ceramica :
L'insegnante piu importante e fondamentale per me è stata mia madre, l'artista Cornelia Forster.. Non tanto tecnicamente ma per la visione artistica e la libertà di espressione.Ho seguito poi dei corsi di ceramica con Petra Weiss per i primi passi, con David Leach per la decorazione , con John Colbeck per la chimica degli smalti e con Jean Claude de Crousaz per la decorazione. 
Negli anni 1980-1984 ho avuto un negozio di ceramica con laboratorio in via Cattedrale a Lugano . Dopo di allora il mio laboratorio di ceramica si trova a Sala Capriasca. 
Sono membro della società cooperativa per l'artigianato ticinese. Lavoro come ceramista indipendente. Sono attivo sopratutto nel grès a 1280 gradi con cotture ossidanti o riducenti.

Insegnamento :
Nel 1979-1980 ho insegnato ceramica con lavoro al tornio alla Scuola Steiner. 
( Marginalmente anche fusione in cera persa e calchi a non perdere in gesso. )



Nel 1991-1992 ho insegnato ceramica con lavoro al tornio alla Scuola Americana di Montagnola. ( Marginalmente anche disegno, bassorilievi e modellaggio. ) Ho tenuto anche brevi corsi di tornio per la Pro Juventute , per l'Ospedale Neuropsichiatrico Cantonale e per l'atelier 102. Ho tenuto inoltre numerosi corsi di ceramica al tornio personali. Alcuni allievi miei sono  oggi ceramisti di professione.

Keramik: 
Mein wichtigster Lehrer war meine Mutter, die Künstlerin Cornelia Forster.
Sie hat mich grundlegend geprägt, weniger in technischer Hinsicht als durch ihre Kunstauffassung und die Freiheit ihres Schaffens. Später besuchte ich Keramikkurse, bei PetraWeiss für Grundkentnisse, bei David Leach für Dekoration, bei Jean Claude de Crusaz für Dekoration und bei John Colbeck für die Chemie der Glasur. Von 1980 bis 1984 besass ich ein Keramik-Atelier mit Ausstellungsraum an der Via Cattedrale in Lugano. Danach zog ich nach Sala Capriasca und richtete dort mein jetziges Atelier ein. Ich gehöre der Società cooperativa per l'artigianato ticinese an (Genossenschaft für das Tessiner Handwerk). Ich bin freischaffender Keramikkünstler. Ich verwende vor allem die Grès-Technik bei 1280 Grad (Brand durch Oxydation oder Reduktion). Sporadisch habe ich auch bei tiefen Temperaturen und mit der Raku-Technik gearbeitet.

Lehrtätigkeit:
Von 1979 bis 1980 lehrte ich Keramik an der Steiner-Schule in Lugano und erteilte praktischen Töpferunterricht an der Drehscheibe. (Am Rande auch Anleitung zum Metallguss in "cera persa" und zur Herstellung wiederverwendbarer Negativ-Gipsformen)



 Von 1991 bis 1992 lehrte ich Keramik an der Amerikanischen Schule in Montagnola und erteilte praktischen Töpferunterricht an der Drehscheibe. (Am Rande auch Kurse für Zeichnen, Relief und Modellieren). Für die Pro Juventute, die Neuropsychiatrische Klinik des Kantons Tessin und das Atelier 102 hielt ich kürzere Töpferkurse ab. Ausserdem habe ich sehr viele private Keramik- und Töpferkurse erteilt. Einige meiner Schüler haben die Keramik als Beruf gewählt.

My father owned a textile serigraphy; my mother was the artist Cornelia Foster.

Ceramics:
My most important teacher and mentor was my mother, the artist Cornelia Forster.
My artistic vision and freedom of expression can be credited to her. My introduction to pottery was under the first guidance of Petra Weiss. David Leach and Jean Claude de Crousaz taught me the art of decoration. From John Colbeck I learnt the chemistry of glazing.

Teaching:
From 1979 to 1980 I taught pottery with the use of the potter's wheel, metal fusion in "wax lost" and "not to loose" imprint mould in plaster, at the Steiner School in Ticino.



During 1991 and 1992 my teaching assignment was at the American School in Montagnola, Ticino. Here, in addition to teaching pottery with the use of the potter's wheel I also taught design, bas-relief and modelling.
I conducted short courses in pottery for the Pro Juventue, the Ospedale Neuropsichiatrico Cantonale and Atlier 102. Many of my students are now professional potters.
